Opening a New Door – ending osuconvo.com
On the 12th day of Christmas, Epiphany 2026, the final Holy Door of the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope closed behind us – like the Magi, we each go home by another way, uncertain where our hope will lead us. Our travel cohorts disband, but the pilgrimage continues.
In 2022, in the midst of a global pandemic, American Ursulines gathered virtually for a six-week Convocation Pilgrimage of Challenge and Change. For the past three years the osuconvo.com website has housed the shared resources of that experience and has archived documents from past Inter-Ursuline gatherings. For 2024-2025, we launched Pilgrim 500 in commemoration of St Angela’s pilgrimages to the Holy Land in 1524 and to Rome for the the 1525 Holy Year. To deepen our reflection the website shared past reflections on the “decade of pilgrimages” in Angela’s life and its meaning for our own spiritual journeys. After three years, it is now time to close the last of the little “holy doors” of our osuconvo.com website piazza. Yet, as we close a door, we open a window!
The 2022 Pilgrim Guidebook (with 2025 link update) still links to the virtual convocation resources (the Convo Station Outline & Index offers a simple link update). The Inter-Ursuline Index of Documents from the website also has active links. The documents may be downloaded and will be housed on this Angela Merici Online Resources [AMOR] website, www.mericistudies.org.
As we gather across centuries and across continents, insieme with Saint Angela, to celebrate her Feast on January 27th, on behalf of the Madre, reach out and touch the hand of a companion on the journey….
